Quest: The Stone Mountain Journey

" Sorry, never heard of them. It might be though." Orion looked around and pointed. " Over there!" A few ledges away, lay the entrance of the Stone Mountain Caverns.

OOC- Wee prepare for fighting!!!

"Yes! Let us get there fast!"

OOC: Nothing lives in the Caverns, until you get real deep down.

OOC- Aww I wanted a gaurdian cave troll thing.

BIC- Orion flung the shard onto the ledge, it caught in between two rocks. Orion tugged it and swung himself. He kept swinging because the ledge was to high. He gained speed as he kept swinging. Now Orion's face almost touched the side of the ledge. As it swung in towards the ledge, Orion jumpped and gripped the crystal shard as he pulled himself up with one hand.

"Now that was an impressive stunt. How do you suppose I should try that? Could you throw me your rope back?"

Orion held onto the rope with one hand and passed the other side to Leroy, preparing to help him up.

"Thank you very much" Leroy said, and grasped the rope. He swung across, and held out his hand for Orion to grab.

Orion grabbed Leroy's hand and hauled him up. " Now then, on ward into the caverns!"

"Ah, Orion. I would be much obliged to you if we could take a few moments to rest, as we are both injured and have been climbing a mountain."

" Very well, guess I was just a bit excited." Orion took out a canteen of mint and honey tea and drank some, passing some to Leroy.

Leroy plopped himself down next to Orion, and drank lightly. "Thank you Orion." He said, and passed it back.

Orion stored it away and moved up, throwing a ball of fire slowly through the entrance.

"How long can you keep a fire like that going? Because that might be a useful light source once we enter the caverns."

" How long does a campfire last when there is no wind nor rain? That is the answer." Orion said simply as the orb flew around, luminating the entire place.

"Good, good." Leroy got up, and entered the cavern slightly. "Boy, this tunnel goes on for a while."

Orion nodded. " Then we best get going, or we won't get out of here."

OOC- How about at the end of the caverns is a passage leading back into the open?

OOC: I was thinking of a gem mine or something. Maybe we should decide that now...

OOC- How about at the end is a huge gem mine and at the end of that is the exit, which leads to a hidden door in the mountain or something.

OOC: Should there be people living in the mine? Or should it be deserted?

OOC- How bout gem-crazed goblins or something?

OOC: Hmm, something like that.
BIC:
Leroy carefully walked into the cavern, glancing around at the walls, illuminated by the ball of fire. He stepped lightly, though he didn't know why. Well, Leroy is pretty paranoid.

Orion kept walking, suddenly halting. In front of him was a large crack straight across the path, on the side Orion was on, was two small ladders. " Wonder where this goes."

OOC- Lets say the the goblins are very small, like ten of them stacked on top of each other to reach Orion's height?

Leroy looked at the ladders questioningly, as if willing them to speak and say where they led. To his utter dismay, nothing happened. "Well Orion, I think that we must follow them. What is the worst thing that could happen?" Leroy asked this, of course knowing the worst: they could die.

" Well, I'll go first, like I also have to..." Orion climbbed slowly down the small ladder, it groaned as if it were going to snap soon. Orion reached the bottom swiftly, which was out of eye's view from the top where the crack was. As he landed, Orion was hit in the head with a club, but the thing that hit him wasn't strong enough to knock him out and he whirled around, caught the club in midair before it struck down on him again, and snapped the club in half. His eyes shone bright red and suddenly the little creature put his hands to his face and screamed in pain as fire burned his face. He looked around, he was surrounded by about fifty goblins all holding bows and arrows pointed straight at him. " Uhhh Leroy, a little help here!" He yelled up before rolling to the side as fifty arrows clattered against the stone floor where he had been a moment ago.

Leroy sprang down the ladder and crushed one goblin with his boot. It was a tad small. He then brought his sword close to the ground and spun it in a circle, hearing many sounds of peril as he sliced off the goblin's heads.

OOC- They are pretty far away... They are all on ledges and thinks and we are in a circlish room and we are in the center.

BIC- Arrows shot off towards them rapidly, about a hundred arrows flew at them. Orion pushed Leroy to the side, rolling close enough to avoid the first flurry of arrows.
